Jose Manuel ‘Manolo’ Diaz has over 20 years of coaching experience, including a significant period of time in the Real Madrid CF set-up.
The 53-year-old has an overall win rate of 41.77 percent over 328 matches coached in his two-decade career, and a 46.66 percent win rate in his latest stint at Real Madrid Castilla (2018-19).
His most successful stint as a manager was when he was in charge of Real Madrid Castilla during the 2018/19 season where he had won 14 out of 30 matches with a win percentage of 46.67 percent.
Diaz started his coaching career at Real Madrid Juvenil two decades ago in 2002.
The Spaniard was in charge of the youth side for four seasons until 2006. From 2009 to 2013, he managed Real Madrid C in Tercera Division. From 2013 to 2015, he was at the helm of Real Madrid Castilla. He had another stint with Castilla during the 2018/19 season in the Segunda Division after Santiago Solari became the first-team coach of Real Madrid.
Besides his long association with Real Madrid, Diaz has managed the likes of Navalcarnero, Ponferradina and Hercules.
