A midfielder during his playing days, our Assistant Coach Anthony Grant spent a major part of his career playing for Everton and Manchester City in the English Premier League. He also featured in the English Football League for clubs such as Swindon Town, Tranmere Rovers, West Bromwich Albion, Crewe Alexandra, Accrington Stanley and Chester City.
Grant’s managerial career began with Crewe Alexandra where he served in a dual capacity as both player and coach. He also brought immense success to the Blackburn Rovers youth set-up wherein he served as the U-18 coach between 2010 and 2012 and was later on handed over the reins of the senior side. Grant served as the Technical Director of Brisbane Roar during Fowler’s tenure at the club. Like his namesake in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, our Tony will have a lot of brainwork to do this season.
Having played for some of the top clubs in Indian football and represented India for over a decade with élan, Renedy Singh knows Indian football inside out. The former midfielder and Indian captain holds a special place in the hearts of our supporters, for his contribution to the club’s history is etched in golden letters. Renedy played for the Red-and-Gold brigade in two stints—from 1996 to 2000 and from 2008 to 2010, so he is no stranger to the emotions that make our club what it is today. He also played 44 matches for Mohun Bagan, thereby earning the distinction of playing the Kolkata derby from both camps. After playing for a number of other prominent Indian clubs like JCT, United Sports Club, United Sikkim and Shillong Lajong, the Hero Indian Super League club Kerala Blasters FC and the Bulgarian club CSKA Sofia, Renedy hung up his boots in 2015 to concentrate on coaching and football administration. As a manager, Renedy served as assistant to David Platt at the erstwhile Pune City FC in the 2015-16 Hero Indian Super League and managed the Imphal-based NEROCA FC in the 2019 Hero I-League. As the sole Indian in our technical management group, Renedy’s immense experience will nourish, sustain, motivate and enhance the squad in general and our Indian players in particular.
